I believe the Lord gave me inspiration to put together a demonstration of what it means to be born again. You’re still the same person but you’re altogether new, changed, a new creature (as in 11 Cor. 5:17 – “..."if any person is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come.”
Like most of us, who need to be washed first, then transformed, little by little, line upon line, precept upon precept into the image of Christ – sanctification. I took this perfectly common piece of old cloth, which most likely, was once a hand towel, washed it first, sometimes mending the piece if needed, then began to transform it into what you see today. It looks totally different, has an entirely different purpose in life. It has changed from being something that wiped dirty hands and faces, possibly even floors and is now something beautiful.
Much like what happens when we say “yes” to Jesus. First He cleans us up, then He begins to make us like Himself by teaching us with His word. We are completely changed immediately and continue to change and grow and develop as He sees fit. |
