Meet Roxanne of watercolorsNmore

I give God the glory for ability that He has given me.
I feel truly blest to be able to do what I love and have people appreciate it.

1. When did you start painting? 1979

2. Did you go to school for your painting.
I am self taught
3. What are your inspirations?
I am a lifetime Florida resident and it provides unending reference material.
I love the birdlife, landscapes florals and also paint lots of local landmarks as this area
has a rich heritage. I love painting old ornate architecture. I recently completed one of the areas’ oldest churches 1905…such a rich beautiful building with grand stained glass windows.

4. Your colors are just amazing - does that come naturally?
I love color and I do suppose it comes naturally. I can go from soothing, peaceful to bright and bold depending on the subject. Most of my watercolors are realistic; but I do enjoy abstracts which will be seen some in my ACEOs.

5. When did you decide to make jewelry out of your art?
Shortly after joining etsy, I decided I needed to focus more on lower end art. The watercolor pendants seemed to be a way to have a piece of art and wear it too.
I take pride in that my pendants are original art pieces and not from commercial sheets. Occasionally I will have a print reduced for the pendants, but prefer the original ones.
6. What technique do you like best?
I like transparent watercolor most, but whatever the subject dictates and works best, I’ll use. Sometimes it requires pen and ink which I enjoy working with also.

You do collage which is one of my favorite medias.
I do love to use collage with my watercolors and pen and ink mostly on the ACEOs.

Would you ever mix other medias into your collage?
I like to mix the different medias. I like to add acrylics as well.

I have become addicted, to etsy, that is. Mostly I love to make treasuries (as time allows). It’s neat to check out shops and get to know the different artisans and crafters.
I also love to exercise on a regular basis.
I am married and mother of 2 grown girls. The youngest is just now getting married and is keeping me rather busy with the plans.
I am very community minded and very active in a local art club.

You can say my watercolors are: Frameable, wearable and collectible.
