IN HONOR OF 9/11

Do you remember where you were when your heard that a plane crashed into the Twin Tower in New York City? I am using the word plane as singular because I heard it before the second plane hit.

I was sitting in my car, waiting for Jenifer to come out of the eyeglass store. I was holding Noah, who was only 3 months old at the time. Jenifer came out of the shop, leaned in the window and said that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. My initial reaction was one of disbelief and almost thought she had to be mistaken. I turned on the radio and someone was saying that a second plane hit the other tower and there were rumors of other planes that were going to attack. Then the Pentagon was hit and the other plane crashed into a field. Then they said that they believed that the White House was a target.

I was in shock, as I am sure, everyone else was. I was worried about Cole being in school. We live in New Jersey and being so close to NYC, I was frightened. We went home and felt okay at that point about Cole but the day and the days after were horrific. I am not going to get into the whys, and wherefores, but I do know that we all felt that America was immune to attacks, especially after Pearl Harbor. We all thought we were protected.

My opinion is that only God can protect us and if it is in His plan, there is nothing we can do. If God wanted us to know about it and stop those planes then He would have done that.

My heart prays for the families of the victims of 9/11 who will live this pain over and over again. While it is important for us as a nation to remember, how hard it must be for these families to be reminded every year. I know that while I am sitting here typing, there are 100's, if not 1,000's of people standing in the rain at the site of the Twin Towers, giving honor to those who died that day.

God save us all.

It was indeed a sad day. I was walking into the college building I attended at the time, and I saw that a group of students were gathered around a television in a study area. Some of them were crying. I walked closer and saw what was on the news, but eventually they evacuated the building and sent us home. It was terrifying, and I don't even live anywhere near NYC. You must have been so frightened.

It was a terrible day, and it didn't stop with just that day. Many people in our country are still suffering from the losses that day. It's good to remember and still pray for them.

Remembering the disbelief as I saw it over and over again on television. Feeling the panic, as I imagined it, for the people in the towers.

Watching the documentary that was aired on PBS about it. They were following a fire department and it just happened when the filming was taking place.

Looking at the last images of some lost that day.

i woke up that morning ready to begin working on inventory for my fall shows. Turned on tv and couldn't believe my eyes. Even now, it makes me cry. I was glued to the tv for days. "This can't be real"...but, sadly, it was.
My heart and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost thier lives on that day.
God, heal our land.
God, help America.
God, bless America.
God, bless our Troups.

Yes, I do remember that day....I was home with my little one getting ready to head down to work...when a neighbor called over to tell me to turn on the TV. I immediately called my husband. Yes, it was a day that we can never forget.

I pray the Lord comforts those who suffered loss that day...and that we never take for granted living life for Him...as we never know what day will be our last.

We were getting ready to go to the state fair down here in TN when we saw the plane's on TV. We decided to stay home and hug our kids just a little tighter than normal. Still reeling from the memory. America needs to stop and bless God!

I saw it on TV in the morning, at 8:46am on Good Morning America and thought it was a clip of a movie until I realized that this was horrific reality. I will never forget.
My front yard tomorrow will have American Flags in it. God bless us all and keep us safe.

I was only thirteen so I didn't fully understand the hugeness of it all. I was at home, and my mom suddenly just said we were going over our pastor's house and everyone was talking about it and the radio was on...and it was just horrible.

Indeed... a day that I will not forget. I was getting ready for work. That week at work, we hung the flag that was presented to my mother upon his death. It filled the front window of our shop.

I was in Columbia SC at my dad's house. We knew for sure that the world would never be the same, after we realized that this was a deliberate attack. We were watching the news reports before the second plane hit, and it was hard to pull away from the television. My oldest son was 5 at the time, my oldest daughter 8, and my youngest daughter was 3. We'll tell these stories to our great grandchildren, won't we! amazing it's been 10 years.

My husband woke me up after the first plane. Then I watched in shock as the second plane went in. Then the others.
I live in Oklahoma City. I remember the day of our bombing. I remember where I was, what I was wearing, the sound, the feel and the heat. It was a bright sunny Wednesday morning. I got a mild sunburn after volunteering downtown that day.
The saddest part of anything like this is to hear "there are no more survivors".
I told our church ladies tonight, if God is ready for you to come home, there is nothing anyone can do to prevent it. Shouldn't we be glad for that? No one can interfere with God's plan for our lives. Not even us.

I was watching Good Morning America with Charlie Gibson and thought it was a clip of a new movie at first, until I saw the anchors faces and then realized that this was real. When the second plane hit, Charlie Gibson stated America is under attack and I slowly sat back down in my chair not believing what I saw...
Praying and remembering...

It was really a sad day and God indeed has His reasons. My cousin's life was spared because he was late for work that day. When he got out of the subway, he saw that he missed a call from his wife. Instead of rushing to his office (yes he works at the Wall Trade Center), he instead returned his wife's call and said that He is fine and it's not his building that was hit. At that moment, the second plane hit his building!

Yes! The Lord still has other plans for him.

I had worked the night shift and was sleeping, when I was awaken to be told about that horrible incident. I lived in New Jersey then and I remembered seeing the smoke and also the smell that night when I went to work. The feeling of loss was overwhelming

I was in work - my mom called to tell me what had happened -- while we were still on the phone the 2nd plane hit. I work very close to home so I walked home to watch. I remember many of us had our kids dismissed early from school.
